About the project

The main objective of the project is to allow students from different countries to interact, sharing cultural experiences and cooperating with each other, in order to use the English language as a language of communication. In a nutshell, the project aims at broadening students’ insights and fostering the use the English language in a real and meaningful context.
Topics: All the topics which are interesting to pupils aged from 8-10 such as: introducing themselves, hobbies and interests, talking about their school and school life, their town/country, traditional/typical food, festivities, Interesting events/activities at school, etc.
AIMS
- Develop students’ English language proficiency and communicative skills;
- Foster naturalistic language acquisition and its use;
- Foster the awareness of a European identity;
- Share cultural experiences, customs and traditions;
- Talk about different topics;
- Encourage the use of Information and Communication Technologies;
- Bolster student’s motivation in the teaching and learning process.
WORK PROCESS
The project will be divided into 7 sections and each school will cooperate to carry out the outlined activities and achieve the intended objectives.
- NOVEMBER/DECEMBER: Teachers introduction and students introduction + Definition of a logo for the project
- JANUARY/FEBRUARY: "My school presentation/School life"
- MARCH/APRIL: "My town/My country"
- MAY and THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT: Live meetings
- THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT: Sharing interesting events/activities
- JUNE: Evaluation
EXPECTED RESULTS
Students are expected to:
- be aware of the location of their partners’ country;
- communicate efficiently and collaborate;
- interact with their peers using the English language in a real and meaningful context;
- know their peers better and see the differences and similarities in the way they live, learn and have fun;
- learn about other European countries and bolster their cultural knowledge;
- learn about partners’ languages;
- strengthen the awareness of a European identity;
- increase awareness about cultural differences and similarities.
